Not only did The Preachers Kid chart on iTunes (pretty amazing for a COMPLETELY INDIE artist) but the party / show Tom P threw to celebrate had a great turn out on the same day Tom P was featured in Atlanta's largest press "Creative Loafing" with a full article. Tom P drops his much anticipated 3rd album "The Preachers Kid"

Tom P drops his new album The Preacher Kid.

After 2 years in the making, Atlanta MC Tom P releases his 3rd solo album The Preachers Kid. It debuted in the top 100 on iTunes and received great reviews from fans and across the blogosphere. The album featured several of Tom P's fellow Atlanta homeys/talents like RITTZ, Jarren Benton, Trinidad James, Rehab, Playboy Tre, BIGREC, Gripplyaz and Alexandria Lushington. 

Tom P had recently won "Best hip hop act in Atlanta" which only added to the buzz around this artist come Nov 5th when the album finally dropped on-line.

Tom P rocks the SMKA "Hangout Fest" release party

What is "The Hangout?" It's a mix tape that was put together by Atlanta production/branding team SMKA. Tom P has done a lot of work with SMKA over the years. Read more about that here. The mix tape can be described as..

"The Hang Out" is a compilation project created during the A3C Festival in Atlanta at the legendary Stankonia Studios. Production crew SMKA were tapped to created original music while rappers came in and out of the Stankonia Studios during the three-day festival, resulting in this free mixtape. Features include Problem, Tom P, Jarren Benton, Chuck Inglish, Boldy James, Forte Bowie, Denzel Curry, King’s Dead, Kris Kassanova, Scotty ATL, Chill Moody, Kidd Kidd, 40 Akerz, Earthgang, Shawn Crystopher, Bizzy Crook, Cool is Mac, Chase Allen, GQ, Halo, Planet lV and more." The mix tape was accompanied by a release party at Star Bar. Tom P performed live alongside a lot of other up and coming Atlanta talent, most of whom was featured on the mix tape.

Local Atlanta rapper Jarren Benton had his album release party at the 529 and invited Tom P to share his headlining set. They rocked their song "Fuck that Shit" off Jarren's new album "Huffing Glue with Hasselhoff" and then Tom P did a few tracks off his up coming project "Root for the Underdog." Tom P on SMKA's STARGAZING TOUR

The Stargazing Tour was a city-wide tour of performances put on by SMKA and Whynatte. They tried booking the top local talent and even a few headline acts to perform at venues across Atlanta. This was the show we rocked at the familiar venue, Star Bar. This was before Jarren Benton had taken off and at the time being Vonnegutt was signed with Big Boi's label "Purple Ribbon" and were slowly gaining a buzz inside the city plus touring with some larger names.

Tom P is a white rapper from Atlanta generally considered one of the most prominent names in the cities hip hop culture and best act in the city.
