It was time to do an official release party for my self titled album. We went back to the warehouse where we had thrown a few shows before. My buddy TmcG got some awesome footage of the night and put it into a montage starting with us setting up the event leading to the chaos that ensued, set to my new song "Southern City Boys" watch that here >
We went a little overboard on this one. Check out more on my official website. Tom P album release party in Atlanta. I basically ended up throwing an indoor music festival. Not only did I headline the festival, but I also handled all the organization and promotions, hired stage hands, bartenders, sound guys, lighting people, an Atlanta cop to stand at the door, extra security and even rented porta potties.
Although, I did bring out well over 1,000 fans and the night was a huge success.

After Paul and I had done a dozen or so of these "showcase style shows" see Sights of Sound and Rhyme Society we decided to throw one of our own. The original "Jump Off" was the unofficial name of our warehouse parties we had thrown prior to this. We decided we would try throwing one of our own at our favorite venue in town at the time called Lenny's. We also booked a few of our favorite local acts to open for us who we had met while making our rounds in the showcase circa of Atlanta. These included Sean Falyon, The Canz, Mums FP, Siya, and we even threw a shout out to our former team member Tyler Person aka Ty-Vicious who had formed a new rap group called "The Nice Guise."
The night was a huge success. The venue sold out and Paul and I rocked it out as usual.

There is a spot in Atlanta called "The 529." Its a great place to go check out some local music in the heart of East Atlanta. Its such a small venue that there is no bad seat in the house for an up close and personal live experience for the fans. I have not only performed here countless times but seen people like Yelawolf, BOB, People Under the Stairs and Freddie Gibbs grace this stage. Anyway, we rocked this shit with the homeys Supreeme Supreeme who were at the time signed with Warner Bros. They had gone to Grady High School around the same time I was attending Decatur High School so we ran with similar circles. They came up with this crazy ass flyer which disgusted a few of our Facebook fans and even cause a couple chicks to boycott the show (sort of), I'm pretty sure they showed up anyway..

Lenny's was a bar in Atlanta that was a staple in the Atlanta music community for many years. We loved Lenny's before they closed. They had a really "underground" feel, a stage that was only about 2 feet off the ground which would provide for up-close and personal shows for fans. It was a place that really helped built the careers of rappers like Yelawolf and singers like Janelle Monet. (Click the linked names to read an article by Creative Loafing about artist relationships with Lenny's before it closed)
A really cool dude named Bean ran the place and handled most of the booking. He was always trying to get a bill together that would facilitate a sold out house. His favorite people to book always seemed to be myself, Yelawolf, another group of white rappers from Atlanta named The Wheeler Boys, sometimes cats like Hollyweerd or Pill. There were some dope ass shows at Lenny's, they always turned into parties, it was a cool wiley ass place. But anyway,
The "Rhyme Society" showcase was a showcase we rocked in Atlanta. I was able to find the original flyer. Check out a similar post about The Rhyme Society Showcase on my website. You can download free music, watch videos and a whole bunch of other shit there.

Tom P releases his first album which was self titled. It featured 14 songs. Some of the most popular were Killin' it, Wild South, Let it Ride, Duckin' 5'0 and Heartbreaker which also appeared on SMKA's 808 Experiment Vol. 1.
Also, if you want to check out some other dope artists from Atlanta who were featured on that SMKA mix tape you can find that here for free.

It was a crazy wind down to the end of the year. We had 3 shows this week alone, all while this massive party at a warehouse was looming over us that we were headlining. For this show, I organized most of the evenings attributes. I hired the opening acts, rented the sound equipment, hired bartenders, bought 10 kegs, promoted and headlined the show on top of everything else.. However, we did get nearly 1,000 people through the door for our show. We were a little understaffed though so my buddy Matt Pelosi had to run the sound and at one point Paul even had to sell beer tickets. Shit worked out though. If you were there that night, you know how dope that shit was and this was just the beginning!
FUN FACT: Does anyone remember "The GS Boys" they had that one shitty song "The Stanky Leg" that somehow got halfway popular for half of a second in 2008. They were basically trying to piggy back off of Soulja Boy's recent momentum of simplicity coupled with a dance and instructional lyrics of how to do it yourself. There was a lot of these at that time… I remember one called "Crank my Yank." I guess it was about jerking off in the club, I dunno… but anyway, I think it was a pretty local movement and fortunately for a lot of you did not make it across the entire country but if you were anywhere near the South East, you most likely heard this song at some point and even saw some frat boys dancing to it.
Anyway, if you look in the back of this video you will see the big lit up back drop saying "THE GS BOYS." (Which is probably what they spent half of their signing bonus on since we never heard much from them after this song came out. Despite its popularity, I don't think a single person in Atlanta would know if they were standing next to one of these guys at a Kroger.) Now look up in my photos, notice anything? The same warehouse where they shot this horrible video, we threw an awesome fucking party and put on a great show. I guarantee more people in this city remember that show than that crap ass song, which should say something about the game I think… take notes "powers that be!"

Paul T and I hit it hard for the holiday season. We did two shows back to back in one night. The first was hosted by DJ Don Cannon at one of Atlanta's premier venues called "Vynil." We went on pretty early, by request. Afterwards we went and performed at "Lenny's" where we headlined a holiday showcase they were putting on. Pretty fun night! We wore Santa hats to promote the holiday vibe. I was performing music off my first album "Self Titled" which hadn't come out yet at the time. Give that and the other two albums in my discography a listen, its an ATL hip hop classic at this point. Tyler Person DJ'd and the crowd was pretty thick and amped to see the show. Unfortunately, I cannot find any pictures from the Vynil show but at least I was able to find this gem below from the Lenny's show.
I have a whole bunch of free music downloads and new releases on my official website. Check that out when you get a chance.

Tom P and the crew sell out The East Atlanta Ice House.
These pics are pretty dope. The show was sold out. It was part of series of events we did in Atlanta called "Speakeasy" which started out as house parties. This was over in EAV (East Atlanta village) The venue doesn't exist anymore but this was a really fun, dope live show. At the time, Ty-vicious and I were working on my first solo album "self titled." You can get that for free off my website. It's a little dated so if you want to check out some of the newer stuff click one of the links at the bottom of this post.
You've got me, Paul T. and our old homey Ty-Vicious who used to DJ and throw events with us.
I think this was one of the first times I saw my name on a marquee outside a club which was pretty cool. I'm glad I could find that picture.

Tom P performing live at Sold Out Five Spot in Atlanta
Tom P is a rapper from Atlanta.
Welcome to the first post on the new blog. This is from early in my career. Just a short post about myself performing live at the five spot in little five points. At the time I was working on my new project "Self Titled" you can download that at the link below or check out some new releases as well.
Look at that flyer man! Look at that shit! I cannot believe we actually had a flyer that looked like that. Hahahaha. I had forgotten all about this. My first show flyer. People probably laughed their asses off when we showed up at the venue with this as the flyer or handed it to somebody in the street. But we were the one's laughing when we sold the place out. I don't think the five spot took us very serious, but who would? These little white boys come in saying they want to throw a rap show. It even has the Blaqwood camp as an opening act whose members are from the group I started in. But all that is history and fun to look back on. Feel free to check out the rest of the blog.
